09-Jul-88
Bizarre Festival, Loreley, Germany
86 min. Bootleg Video

The Battle March Medley / The Broad Majestic Shannon / If I Should Fall From Grace With God / Medley / Repeal Of The Licensing Laws / The Body Of An American / Boat Train / Metropolis / A Rainy Night In Soho / Streets Of Sorrow-Birmingham Six / Lullaby Of London / Johnny Come Lately / Thousands Are Sailing / Sketches Of Spain / Fiesta / Turkish Song Of The Damned / Sally MacLennane / Dirty Old Town / The Irish Rover / Honky Tonk Women

Audience Camcorder. With long periods of blackness, as well as a very shaky image (the person is standing in the middle of a rough crowd) this makes a pretty bad bootleg video. Still, there are times you can actually see the band, and this can make it worth owning. Judging from the sound, I think the Bootleg LP "Police, Perverse and Pills" was made from this video.

Audience Camcorder. The person recording the show is in the crowd in front of the right speaker. He/She does a fairly good job of keeping the camera stable. It's fun to watch Shane play a variety of percussion instruments. The sound quality is good except that because the camera is close to the speakers, the sound gets loud and distorted. NB: this is NOT the same source as the audio bootleg of this show.

30-Sep-89
Opera House, Boston, Massachusetts, USA
94 min. Bootleg Video

Streams of Whiskey / Greenland Whale Fisheries / Boat Train / Cottonfields / Young Ned of the Hill / The Broad Majestic Shannon / If I Should Fall from Grace with God / USA / Metropolis / A Rainy Night in Soho / Johnny Come Lately / The Gentleman Soldier / The Repeal of the Licensing Laws / Lorelei / White City / Gartloney Rats / Bottle of Smoke / Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah / Star of the County Down / The Band Played Waltzing Matilda / Fiesta / Hot Dogs With Everything (Spider Stacy vocals) / The Irish Rover

Audience Camcorder. This video has a great view, is stable, and is highly recommended!

04-Nov-89
Jaap Edenhal, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
9 min. Bootleg Video

Repeal Of The Licensing Laws / Greenland Whale Fisheries / Boat Train / Cotton Fields / Young Ned Of The Hill (Shane vocals) / The Broad Majestic Shannon / Turkish Song Of The Damned / USA / Gridlock / Misty Morning, Albert Bridge / Johnny Come Lately / If I Should Fall From Grace With God / Down All The Days / The Sick Bed Of Cuchulainn / Lorelei / Dirty Old Town / [Roddy McCorley] / White City / Bottle Of Smoke / Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah ("Careless Whispers" version) / White Light, White Heat (Spider vocals) / Star Of The County Down / Rainy Night In Soho / Hot Dogs With Everything / Fiesta

Audience Camcorder. The view is from behind the crowd, with a zoom lens and so you have a clear view. It is remarkably stable - the person may have had a tripod or simply something stable to set it on. There are some blackout periods, possibly because the person wanted to hide the camera. Bad points: the picture is quite dark and the sound is not very good.

01-Dec-90
Grugahalle, Essen, Germany
92 min. Bootleg Video

Streams Of Whiskey / If I Should Fall From Grace With God / Cotton Fields / Young Ned Of The Hill / Rain Street / Sayonara / The Sunnyside Of The Street / Repeal Of The Licensing Laws / The Broad Majestic Shannon / The Body Of An American / Gartloney Rats / The Ghost Of A Smile / Summer In Siam / Thousands Are Sailing (Philip Chevron vocals) / Bottle Of Smoke / Dirty Old Town / The Sick Bed Of Cuchulainn / Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah / Star Of The County Down / Sally MacLennane / The Band Played Waltzing Matilda / The Irish Rover / Fiesta

Audience Camcorder from the balcony. The video is quite distant, but it does have a clear, stable view and a good zoom lens. It is very dark however. The Pogues wouldn't come out and play until some barriers were removed from in front of the stage where they might pose a threat to fans, so there's a 20 minute introduction.

Audience camcorder from the balcony - quite distant, but it does have a clear, stable view and a good zoom lens. Dark and poor sound.
